OMNI Human Resource Management is proud to support our community through team volunteering projects, board leadership, philanthropy, and a commitment to serving the nonprofit population in Kansas City and beyond. Since 2017, the OMNI team has organized quarterly staff volunteering projects with local nonprofit organizations, including many events with our nonprofit clients, and logged more than 150 hours of volunteer time.

The OMNI team spent the afternoon serving refreshments to golfers at the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce annual golf tournament on Monday, August 17th. We loved being able to meet so many great people while enjoying the amazing weather. Congratulations to all of the winners! Learn more.
Cuddles & Laundry, February 2020
OMNI team members spent the morning volunteering at our longtime client, Wayside Waifs, and even got to cuddle with some of the animals! Wayside is the largest no kill pet adoption campus in Kansas City, placing approximately 5,400 animals each year. They also spend each year educating thousands of students in the greater Kansas City area to improve the quality of life for animals and humans in the community. Donations, Warehouse Counting & Organizing, August 2019
OMNI staff assisted Kansas City nonprofit Giving the Basics by organizing and counting donations in their warehouse. Founded in 2011, Giving the Basics brings dignity, health and opportunity to thrive to struggling children and adults through procurement, fulfillment, and distribution of hygiene products. Giving the Basics serves more than 250,000 members of the community each month. Learn more.
Labeling & Organizing, May 2019
OMNI team members visited Reach Out and Read on the KU Medical Center campus to assist in book labeling and organizing. Reach Out and Read delivers nearly 80,000 books each year to kids during well-child visits at local Kansas City hospitals. Learn more.
Snacks at Wylie House, February 2019
Several members of the OMNI team donated ingredients and visited the Wylie House kitchen to prepare snacks – chocolate chip cookies and salsa verde taquitos – for families staying in the home. Adjacent to Children's Mercy Hospital, Wylie House is one of three houses operated and maintained by Ronald McDonald House Charities – Kansas City for families to stay near their sick children. Adopt-A-CASA, December 2018
During the month of December, OMNI staff members donated gifts for two children to receive through the “Adopt-A-CASA” program. The project culminated with a “wrap party” where team members packed and decorated these gifts. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who act as advocates in court on behalf of child victims of abuse or neglect. Camp Prairie Schooner Cleanup, October 2019
A group from OMNI traveled to longtime client Girl Scouts' Camp Prairie Schooner on a rainy morning to offer extra hands in deep cleaning the Trail Center to prepare for camp visitors coming over the weekend. With more than 1.7 million girls involved, Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. Fostering programs across the country and the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success. Learn more.
Food Donations & Sorting, September 2018
In September 2018, the OMNI team assisted Harvesters – The Community Food Network by donating food and sorting and packing dry goods in their warehouse. Harvesters serves 26 counties in Kansas and Missouri, where 1 in 7 is food insecure. Learn how Harvesters supports our community.
Food Pantry Delivery Prep, June 2018
OMNI staff visited client Jewish Family Services of Greater Kansas City to volunteer in the food pantry, assisting in packing food boxes for delivery to local homebound and food insecure families. Jewish Family Services is a comprehensive human service agency committed to strengthening lives throughout Greater Kansas City. Programming is anchored in core Jewish values that honor community and caring for one another, while serving people of all faiths. Learn more.
Letter Processing, March 2018
Members of the OMNI team visited Unbound to assist with letter processing during the busy spring season, handling more than 4,500 letters from around the world in just a few fast hours. Unbound partners with families living in poverty, connecting children, young adults, and elders with sponsors who empower them to become self-sufficient and fulfill their desired potential. Holiday Store Preparations, December 2017
A group from OMNI helped reStart get in the holiday spirit by providing extra hands to organize, clean, and prepare their annual Holiday Store for guests. Since 1981, reStart has worked to end homelessness in Kansas City. Learn more.
Laundry & Treats, October 2017
OMNI team members visited longtime client Wayside Waifs to deliver donations, feed treats to the dogs, and tackle a big pile of laundry needed to care for animals held at the shelter. The largest pet adoption campus in Kansas City, Wayside Waifs is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. Wayside does not euthanize adoptable animals, and in 2018 adopted more than 5,600 animals into loving homes. Learn more.
Bernstein House Cleanup, June 2017
As “part two” of our inaugural volunteering event, OMNI gathered team members to help with housekeeping duties at Bernstein House, formerly known as Cherry House. Bernstein House is one of three homes managed by Ronald McDonald House Charities, providing temporary lodging for families who have a child receiving medical treatment at any medical facility in the Kansas City metro area. Family Room Meal, June 2017
OMNI's first quarterly staff volunteering event kicked off with a meal at the Family Room in Children's Mercy Hospital, downtown Kansas City. OMNI donated ingredients to create a sandwich and ice cream bar for families to eat while remaining close to their children receiving treatment in the hospital. The Family Room in Children's Mercy Hospital is run by Ronald McDonald House Charities and volunteers offer support in the form of meals and special activities. Learn more.
